Your rental installment includes high-speed internet, lawn maintenance, and timely work order repairs. Pet fees will be a separate charge.

Leasing a temporary faculty home provides an easy way to transition into life in Starkville. Unlike conventional leases, you are not held to the entirety of your 18 month contract and there is no penalty for submitting your 30-day notice.

The rental installment is your monthly payment for rent.

Your monthly rent will be split into two payments, and it will be payroll deducted on the 15th and the 30th of each month.

Utilities are not included in your monthly rental installment. However, your gas, water, and electricity will be on when you arrive.  After your arrival you will need to make arrangements for continued utility service for your electricity and natural gas.  A deposit may be required when switching your utilities to your name. 

If you do not wish to make arrangements, there will be a $15.00 charge to each utility bill we pay on your behalf and your utilities will be charged to your MSU account.

We accept check, cashier's check, and money orders for your initial deposit and rent payment made payable to MSU. Subsequent rent will be payroll deducted each month and will be split between two paychecks.

Yes, you can list your bedroom preference on your application, and we will do our best to place you in a floor plan that meets your requests. All requests are taken in order by the date you applied and based on availability.

Trash collection for the housing units is provided once a week. 

Yes, each resident has designated parking at their residence. 

Yes, we do allow pets in our residences. There is a pet fee and a pet addendum that must be signed when you move into your residence. 

Subleasing of MSU faculty housing rentals is NOT allowed. 

Your rental unit is a physical location on campus.  It is not a mailing address. You should secure a U.S. Post Office box for delivery of your mail. If you choose to have your mail sent to a location other than your own box (for example your department’s box), the Postmaster wants you to be aware that (1) your mail will not be available during times the University is closed, (2) they will not go through a department’s mail to pull out personal mail for an individual under any circumstances, (3) they cannot forward an individual’s mail from a department’s box, and (4) when an individual moves, it will be up to the department to forward mail.

Written notice can be submitted to your housing specialist via intent-to-vacate form. Residents will be responsible for utilities until the last day of the 30-day notice.

Employment Termination: The tenant will vacate the property within 30 days after termination of employment with Mississippi State University.
